Holiday Office Closure Notice 

The Pay Duty Office will be closed from Thursday December 22nd, 2022 at 3:00pm until Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at 8:00am.

We will not be accepting any new Pay Duty Requests during this time.

If there is a cancellation or urgent matter regarding an already scheduled pay duty, please call the On-Duty Staff Sergeant in your area:

Book Pay Duty Officer

Pay Duty Officers are available to provide a police presence at a variety of functions such as:

  • School Events
  • Concerts
  • Sporting events
  • Community Events
  • Large load moves
  • Traffic control
  • Film shoots
  • Funeral escorts

Terms to be considered when applying for Pay Duty Officers:

  • Events must be within the Region of Halton.
  • A 3 hour minimum charge per officer.
  • There is a 48 hour cancellation policy in effect.
  • The number of officers required for a Pay Duty will be assessed and determined by the Halton Regional Police Service.
  • The Halton Regional Police Service will make every effort to fulfill Pay Duty requests; however, the filling of requests is not guaranteed.  Advance notice assists the Halton Regional Police Service in fulfilling requests.
  • Requests for Pay Duties should be submitted a minimum of 7 days in advance (30 days for major events) 
  • Payment will be required in advance by credit card 
  • Partial hours will be billed at the full hour rate (i.e. 15 minutes will be billed for 1 hour)

The following shall serve as guidelines for the supervision of officer pay duties:

  1. when 4 to 7 officers are required, 1 of the requested officers shall be a Sergeant
  2. when 8 to 11 officers are required, 2 of the requested officers shall be a Sergeant
  3. when more than 11 officers are requested, 1 of the requested officers shall be a Staff Sergeant and 2 of the requested officers shall be Sergeants
